With a target audience of young adults based in the Manhattan, Koreatown area, I wanted to create a modern logo that appeals and stands out.
Overview
Client Overview: Project Dnote is a new promoting company based in New York City. Project Dnote's mission is to help provide young adults with reliable events to go to within the venues in Manhattan.
Project Overview: The goal of this project was to establish a strong visual identity through the creation of a logo, animated branding elements, and social media assets (including flyers) to drive online engagement and brand awareness.
Problem
How might we allow users to see one of our social media assets and be encouraged to go to the event.
Solution
With a target audience of young adults based in the Manhattan, Koreatown area, I wanted to create a brand identity that appeals and stands out. We started by creating the logo, animation for the logo announcement, and Instagram fliers for the first events.

Phase 1: Logo Creation
Objective: To design a modern, professional logo that reflects the client's tech-forward approach while being versatile across various digital platforms.
Process: -Conducted a discovery session with the client to understand their brand values, target audience, and key messaging. - Developed several logo concepts focused on simplicity, modern typography, and a symbol that reflects innovation. - Refined the selected concept, ensuring scalability and flexibility for various uses (Use in different fliers, app icons, website, etc.).

As the project is pertaining to the d note, I wanted to animate whole notes on a 5 lines, similar to sheet music.

A sleek, minimalist logo featuring 5 stylized whole notes that turn into the word dnote, representing the fusion of technology and music.
Phase 2: Logo Animation
Objective: To create a short animation for use in video content, social media posts, and website loading screens, enhancing brand engagement. Process: - Designed a brief 5 second logo animation that emphasizes the brand’s modern, musical nature. - Used motion graphics to animate the logo, incorporating subtle transitions and effects that highlight the brand’s core message of innovation and music. - Ensured the animation was optimized for multiple platforms, from Instagram stories to video intros.
Outcome
A smooth, engaging logo animation that adds a sense of motion and excitement to the brand’s presence online, boosting viewer retention and engagement on social media.
Phase 3: Social Media Flier Creation
Objective: To create a social media flyer that would drive attention to the brand’s upcoming events and increase visibility across Social Media platforms (Instagram). Process: - Developed a flyer design that matched the palette and logo, ensuring visual consistency. - Incorporated key information such as the event date, DJ's playing, and venue address. - Created multiple versions optimized for different social media platforms (portrait for Instagram stories/reels, square for feed posts).
